Unconscious/Implicit Bias
How do we create a more inclusive community in our workplace? Dr. De Mello showcases a decade of her research to help us examine some of the ways in which we consciously and unconsciously include/exclude others. She uses everyday examples and provides recommendations to enable participants to increase their awareness and put that awareness into practice.

Equity 101: Creating an Inclusive Workplace
Dr. De Mello explores the ways in which employees can bring their ‘wholeselves to work’. She breaks down the terms: diversity, equity and inclusion to give them meaning and help participants put them into practice. There are a series of workshop offerings under this theme that cover everything from tackling every day microaggressions to systemic discrimination.

Conflict Management/Alternative Dispute Resolution
How do we tackle difficult conversations and conflict in the workplace or in our communities? Dr. De Mello uses her training and experience as a mediator, coach and human rights lawyer to provide participants with tools they can use to become more comfortable with confrontration and conflict, and find mutually-agreeable resolutions to move forward.

Community and Civic Engagement
Dr. De Mello talks about the ways in which people can make a meaningful contributions to their communities. Often, because we cannot do everything - i.e. we can't drop our lives and move to another country to serve - so, instead - we do nothing. Dr. De Mello offers practical ways in which participants can start small, start local and start today and do something. She advises that we follow our passion rather than striving for distant fairy tale jobs.
